COVID Response Network wins 2020 Tech Innovation Award

Tech Impact, a nonprofit organization founded with the help of Microsoft with the mission of helping other nonprofits achieve their best outcomes through the use of latest technology, has just appointed the COVID Response Network as a winner of 2020 Technology Innovations Awards.

Through this annual award, the Network has been recognized for having the most original and effective use of technology in an effort to improve their work in the community. The award was received through Lighthouse of Michigan, one of the founding partners of the COVID Response Network.

The COVID Response Network, through the MyCovidResponse database created in March, became a central of hub of assistance for households in need to communicate with all the network partner organizations who then worked collaboratively to efficiently and respectfully meet their needs.

By creating the user-friendly website at, through which people requesting aid are able to easily and safely sign up with their contact information, the COVID Response Network connects those in search of aid to a smart database that locates community partners, resources, and volunteers simultaneously. The Network has been able to assign over 1,200 volunteers and fulfill over 10,000 aid requests, including over 8,000 contactless food deliveries.
The project, since it reflects the Network’s operation process, is ongoing.

With the grant money received for the award, the COVID Response Network and partners are working to transform what has been their prototype operation method into a fully functional web and mobile application that can reach more households and can fulfill other functionalities besides food deliveries.
