UPDATED: Rochester Community Schools Offering Free Meals

Rochester Community Schools is providing free meals to all children inside and outside the RCS district!

All children under the age of 18 are eligible to receive a bagged breakfast and lunch from March 17 – April 5, 2020. All meals are free of charge, but must be preordered by Monday, March 16, by 4 p.m.

Orders can be placed by calling the food service office at (248) 726-4618 from 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. or emailing focfoodservice@rochester.k12.mi.us. This is a one-time call. You do not need to place additional orders throughout the duration of the program.

Email registrations should include:

  • Family name
  • Phone number and email address
  • Number of children under the age of 18
  • Number of meals for breakfast for a one-day order
  • Number of meals for lunch for a one-day order
  • Name of building pick-up site

Pick up location information is as follows:

Tuesday and Wednesday, March 17 – 18, from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Rochester High School receiving area, 180 S Livernois Road. When entering RHS from University Drive, go to the right of the building, just past the tennis courts. These meals will be provided daily and are available only at the RHS location.

Thursday, March 19, 10:30 –11:30 a.m. at all elementary school main entrance parking lots and the Rochester High School receiving area. Starting on March 19, meals will be provided to families in bulk orders. Meals are available for pick up on March 19, 23, 26, 30 and April 2 from the following locations:

  • Brooklands, 490 E. Auburn
  • Delta Kelly, 3880 Adams
  • Hamlin, 270 W. Hamlin
  • Hampton, 530 Hampton
  • Hugger, 5050 Sheldon

  • McGregor, 1101 W. First
  • Meadow Brook, 2350 Munster
  • Musson, 3500 Dutton
  • North Hill, 1385 Mahaffey
  • University Hills, 600 Croydon
  • Rochester High School, 180 S. Livernois (University Drive Entrance)

Blessings in a Backpack

A coordinated community effort is being initiated by Blessings in a Backpack to provide meals beginning on Wednesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. in the Reuther Middle School parking lot, 1430 E. Auburn Road.

Any child on the free or reduced lunch program qualifies for this service. To prepare for distribution, families must place an order by Monday, March 16, to sahearn@rochester.k12.mi.us. Families can pick up their food each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Reuther Middle School.
